Course Description

This course is the third in the political science graduate methodology sequence. The goal is to introduce graduate students advanced statistical models and research designs that are frequently implemented in contemporary political research. By the end of the semester, students should have a general understanding of how to 1) perform statistical analysis using maximum likelihood estimations, 2) design quantitative research for causal inference in observational studies, and 3) apply models that capture spatial and network dependencies in data.
